Holy Ho-Oh! The Pokémon Company International finally unveils thestars of Nintendo’s latest installment in the Pokémon seriesPokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. The new adventure for the Nintendo 3DS handheld will feature Solgaleo and Lunala as it’s main legendaries!
White with a gold-tipped, sunburst mane, Solgaleo is a stoic looking Pokémon. According to Nintendo, it is known as, “the beast that devours the sun,” and it’s signature move seems fitting for a Psychic/Steel type: “Sunsteel Strike [is] an attack that charges at an opponent with the force of a meteor, disregarding the target’s Ability.” Solgaleo also features a never before seen Ability: Full Metal Body which prevents any of its stats from being altered by other attacks.
Lunala is the opposing legendary Pokémon featured in Moon. With giant crescent-shaped wings and a body seemingly made from the darkened sky, Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost type armed with a move called Moongeist Beam which “releases an ominous beam of light that disregards the target’s Ability.” Like Solgaleo, Lunala has an Ability unseen in previous versions of Pokémon. If at full health, “a Pokémon will take less damage from an attack.”
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are scheduled for release on November 18th in North America. You can check out the trailer here!
